  • Cabot completes the acquisition of Orbit Debt Collections Limited, a debt servicing company, in May 2017.
  • Cabot completes the acquisition of its first portfolio in Portugal, in June 2016, from a major retail bank.
  • Cabot completes the acquisition of 50.1 per cent of Nemo Recouvrement S.A.S., a French credit management services business, in March 2016. Nemo Recouvrement specialises in the acquisition of receivables, collection and management of customer receipts and was established in 1984.
  • Cabot achieves FCA authorisation
  • Cabot completes the acquisition of Gesif S.A.U. - now Cabot Financial Spain S.A. - in October 2015. Gesif is a Spanish credit management services business which was established in 1991.
  • Cabot completes the acquisition of Mortimer Clarke Solicitors, a law firm which specialises in credit litigation, in July 2015, following the grant of alternative business structure status to the firm by the SRA.
  • Cabot acquires Hillesden Securities Ltd (trading as dlc) in June 2015. Hillesden Securities Ltd is a UK based acquirer and collector of non-performing unsecured consumer debt and was established in 1994.
  • Cabot Financial upgraded to B+ rating by Standard & Poors.
  • Cabot acquires the Marlin Group in February 2014, a credit management services business which was established in 2002.
  • Cabot joins the Institute of Customer Service
  • Cabot is acquired by J.C. Flowers and Encore through Janus Holdings (Luxembourg) S.à r.l.
  • Cabot Financial and Apex Credit Management merge to form Cabot Credit Management
  • Cabot acquires Apex Credit Management Holdings Limited, and its subsidiaries, in April 2011. ‘Apex’ was established in 2000 as a specialist UK based consumer debt collection agency (DCA) which also conducted debt purchase operations.
  • Cabot purchases an Irish DCA business - now called Cabot Financial (Ireland) Limited - which began trading in 2007.
  • Cabot founded as one of the first entrants into the UK debt purchase market.
