At CCM, we want everyone to thrive, from the very first day they walk the door. We are an ‘employer of choice’ – we value our employees and provide them with the skills and development they need to have a successful career within the company.
Our culture is underpinned by our seven ETHICAL values:
What Our Employees Say About Working Here
“CCM is a great company to work for. I think the benefits are brilliant, and I feel like the company really cares about the way they treat their employees. The development opportunities are great here as well - in the last 18 months in particular I have developed so much personally and been given so many opportunities to broaden my skills and knowledge as well.”
“I feel happy to work where I have such good friends. We have great camaraderie in our team and I am proud that we all work very hard and achieve a huge amount whilst still having fun.”
“I have a great team of people that I work with and I have a really varied role whereby I get to get involved in lots of different activities around the business. The company is always putting on fun events for employees to get involved in, everyone is really friendly, and my job is interesting and challenging at the same time, so I really enjoy coming to work every day.”
Each year, we create a culture book which showcases all our achievements throughout the year. Last year, we asked all employees to think of three words that described how they felt about working here – these are just some of the words they came up with:
Rewarding, Every day is difference, Enjoyable, Professional, Fulfilling, Fun, Fast-paced, Interesting, Dynamic, Engaging, Challenging, Innovation, Teamwork, Ethical and Satisfying.
At CCM, everyone has the opportunity to take control of their career and we believe in helping our people reach their full potential. We’ll provide the training, coaching and experiences that allow you to grow and develop, and take advantage of career opportunities.
All employees in customer facing roles have a comprehensive induction into the business upon joining, and further training and development opportunities related to their role are made available to them to help improve their skills and ensure they continue to learn and develop.
We have an internal 'Launch Pad' programme available for our top performing colleagues keen to develop their career into Management. The programme gives our future leaders the behavioural and technical skills needed to be successful in potential roles, whilst gaining evidence of tasks completed, as well as an Apprenticeship in Management.
In the last 12 months, over 50 people have been promoted or moved departments to enhance their development.
“I started as a Customer Consultant in the call centre 5 years ago. I identified a role in Learning and Development as the Co-ordinator and spent 2 years in this role. I also identified some other opportunities in the organisation that I was interested in and I was offered a secondment in HR and was given the opportunity to complete my CIPD level 3 qualification. During all my years at the company I volunteered to run and organise events for our employee forum and facilitated the running of this group for 3 years. I was given the opportunity to attend courses to develop my skills, and worked on various business initiatives that gave me the required knowledge and experiences to pursue a role as the Internal Communications Officer".
For us to deliver quality service to our customers, we need our people to have a similar experience. Part of that is recognising and rewarding our people in original and competitive ways. Job satisfaction is focused on more than money – it’s also about having great opportunities and being recognised for your accomplishments.
At CCM, in addition to competitive salaries and performance related bonus schemes, we have a comprehensive package of benefits designed to offer a fair deal for you:
*Your specific benefits package will be detailed in your contract
“Cabot offers a great range of benefits, far better than a lot of other companies”
“I love that the company pays £25 towards my gym membership each month”
We will recognise and reward your positive behaviours and performance through various individual and team bonus schemes and incentives, and all colleagues and teams have the opportunity to be rewarded on a monthly basis for outstanding performance and customer service via our Colleague Award & Recognition Scheme.
Our Colleague Award & Recognition Scheme (CARS) exists to recognise all our top performers for their achievements so that every employee in every department is motivated to deliver superior performance in line with our ETHICAL values. CARS enables you to send and receive Thank You messages, make Star or Team of the Month nominations, upload great customer feedback, make Customer Focus nominations, and earn CARS points and prizes.
We also recognise our colleagues that have demonstrated their loyalty to the Company by reaching the ten year service milestone with a special award.
Attracting and retaining talent is very important to us. Therefore we offer discretionary bonus schemes and contractual benefits in addition to the other recognition schemes as described above.
The discretionary performance related financial recognition schemes offered by the company to all employees include;
Our employee’s wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us, so we have several wellbeing initiatives designed to keep our employees fit and healthy:
‘The massages are very relaxing and therapeutic – I felt more refreshed and able to concentrate better afterwards’.
‘The Know Your Numbers clinic made me aware of what I need to do for a positive healthy lifestyle’.
Each year, our employees pick a charity that they would like to support, and throughout the year our Employee Forum organises fun and engaging events, such as dress down days, bake sales, raffles and friendly inter-department competitions in order to create an enjoyable working environment and raise money for our charity. Last year our employees raised £7453 for the Make a Wish Foundation, £5650 for Alzheimer’s Society and £4277 for Chestnut Tree House, and the company then matched these amounts!
Additionally, each employee is given one day to take part in our Working in the Community activities – they have the option of going out to a local school and running a game CCM developed called Skills 4 Bills that teaches children about financial commitments and decisions they will face during their lives, making them aware of the consequences of debt, or they can volunteer at the RSPCA, Spadeworks, Dog’s Trust or Chestnut Tree House.
